के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। आप केन्द्रीय ग्रंथालय के संदर्भ विभाग, टेक्स्ट बुक विभाग का कार्य संचालन देख रहे हैं।
आपको पुस्तकालय एवं सूचना विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में लगभग 30 वर्षों के कार्य का अनुभव है। आपने टी.एफ.आर.आई. जबलपुर तथा राष्ट्रीय सूचना विज्ञान केंद्र (एन.आई.सी.) नई दिल्ली
के पुस्तकालय में कार्य किया है। इसके बाद जुलाई 1996 से आप काशी हिन्दू
विश्वविद्यालय की सेवा में हैं।
आप अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालयों के महासंघ “इफला” के “इंफोर्मेशन
टेक्नोलोजी” यूनिट के सदस्य (2009-2013) रहे हैं। इस दौरान आपने इटली, फ्रांस, फिनलैण्ड, एस्टोनिया, सिंगापुर आदि की संगोष्ठी हेतु
यात्रायें की तथा लेख वाचन भी किया। आपके द्वारा 2 पुस्तकें तथा 50 से अधिक शोध
लेख प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। आप पुस्तकालय संगठनों (ILA,
IASLIC, SIS, IATLIS, IFLA आदि से जुड़े हैं। वर्तमान में इफला रेलिंडियल के सदस्य हैं|
आपने काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय के पूस्तकालय एवं सूचना विभाग
से “इण्टरनेट सर्च इंजिन” के मूल्यांकन पर शोध कार्य किया है। आपको वर्ष 2010 में
शोध उपाधि प्रदान की गयी।

Dr. Vivekanand Jain is working as
Deputy Librarian (Stage V) in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (INDIA). He
has above 30 years working experience in librarianship. Before joining BHU
Library, he served special libraries of Tropical Forest Research Institute
Library, Jabalpur and National Informatics Centre Library, New Delhi.
He has to his credit above 50
research and seminar papers and two books on Efficiency of Internet Search
Engines. He has contributed about 12 chapters in different books including
publication of IFLA series and Cambridge scholars.
Dr. Jain associated with IFLA
Standing Committee on Information Technology Section (2009-2013). He attended
the IFLA World Library and Information Congress at Milan, Helsinki and
Singapore. He is a life member of ILA, IASLIC, IATLIS, AIFUCTO, and SIS. He was
a member of IFLA Relindial for 2021-2023.
